Bao Bar + Asian Kitchen

One of the first stops on our vacation was this trendy restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. It was a beautiful setting right on the waterways. We figured it would be perfect for lunch and were pretty much right as we really enjoyed this place. There was no wait to seat, and we picked outside so we could enjoy the beautiful views. They gave us the lunch menu, which I was sad to see did not include sushi. Apparently, that is only on their dinner menu. Slightly disappointing, since I love sushi, but not enough to affect the experience. They had make your own bowls, which were not too expensive and had some quality ingredients.
Andrew and I both went with pork belly as the meat as we are both obsessed since the Food and Wine Festival. We also got fried rice, which is always so much better than normal rice. For the produce, we choose mango and papaya with peppers and green onions. The overall combination was delicious. It was a great mix of sweet and savory The only thing that could have made it better would have been a little more spice. We asked for sriracha, however they appeared to have a less spicy house blend so even that did not do much. It was still very tasty though and we would definitely eat there again. Next time I would definitely try the sushi for dinner!
